It is a tremendous honor to serve as President of the 100 Club of Rhode Island, an organization whose mission has always held special meaning for me.
Prior to attending medical school, I had the privilege of serving with both the North Kingstown Fire Department and the East Greenwich Fire Department. Those experiences gave me a lasting appreciation for the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of the men and women who serve our communities as first responders. Decades later, my respect and admiration for those who answer that call remain as strong as ever.
As President, my foremost priority will be to continue the proud tradition that has defined the 100 Club of Rhode Island: to be there—immediately and without hesitation—for the families of first responders who make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Our responsibility begins with financial assistance at a family’s most difficult moment, but it does not end there. We remain a source of support, compassion, and reassurance to those families in the days and years that follow.
At the same time, we have a responsibility to ensure that the 100 Club remains strong for generations to come. Together with our Board of Directors, I will work to maintain and grow our financial reserves, strengthen and broaden our sources of revenue, and consolidate and modernize the management of our income and expenses. Good stewardship today will ensure that if tragedy strikes tomorrow, the 100 Club will have the
resources and organizational strength to respond immediately.
The mission is both simple and profound: to take care of the families of those who risk their lives taking care of us.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead this organization, and I look forward to working with our Board, our members, our supporters, and Rhode Island’s entire first responder community to ensure that the 100 Club of Rhode Island remains strong, responsive, and ready to serve well into the future.
